Bart Harrison to contest FIA Academy Trophy

Every year, the FIA runs it’s karting academy trophy alongside the KZ and KZ2 events in Europe. Open to drivers aged 12-14, the grid consists of drivers nominated by their countries governing body to represent the country. A total of 40 young drivers will contest the championship. With the world focused on the start of the 2020 season, the CIK have jumped the gun and released their 2021 calendar, with a few new circuits gracing the calendar. World Champs heads to Portugal, Brazil moved to 2021

Yesterday, the CIK announced that the 2020 World Championships for the OK and OKJ classes will no longer be held in Brazil. The event was set to make it’s debut in South America this year in CIK president Felipe Massa’s home country. Thanks to the events of the last couple of months, that’s no longer possible. CIK championship’s move venues

The most prestigious championship’s in the world of karting have started changing their venues. The CIK FIA European championship and World Championship in KZ, KZ2 and the Karting Academy class will no longer head to Le Mans. Thanks to the ACO cancelling the 24 hours of Le Mans, and re running it in September, the Le Mans circuit won’t be available to host the KZ World Championships from the 10th-13th of September. Lennox Racing Team Switches to Charles Leclerc

The Lennox Racing team, run by former world vice champion Jordan Lennox-Lamb will be running the new Charles Leclerc chassis from next year. Since the team’s inception in 2016, the team has always run the OTK built Exprit chassis. 2020 FIA Calendar announced

The 2020 International Karting calendar has been published by the FIA and confirms that the World Championship is heading to Brazil. The 2020 OK and OKJ World Championship will close out the international season on November 1st at the Speedpark, Birigui. This comes after some concerns about costs, which have been covered by a consortium including CIK President Felipe Massa.
