CIK championship’s move venues
The most prestigious championship’s in the world of karting have started changing their venues. The CIK FIA European championship and World Championship in KZ, KZ2 and the Karting Academy class will no longer head to Le Mans.
Thanks to the ACO cancelling the 24 hours of Le Mans, and re running it in September, the Le Mans circuit won’t be available to host the KZ World Championships from the 10th-13th of September. Therefore, the CIK has elected to move the event to Lonato, the venue of the 2019 event. The support bill, featuring the KZ2 Super Cup, FIA Karting Academy Trophy and the FIA Karting Historic Super Cup will all head to Lonato on the same date. The move is subject to FIA approval.
Lonato was slated to host the 2nd round of the European championship over the 13th-16th of August. That event will now head to Adria over the same date. The opening round of the championship will still take place in Genk in June.
So far, the OK and OKJ calendars haven’t had any further modifications made yet, with their season’s due to kick off in May.
