Rotax Euro trophy moves to July start

With all the uncertainty around when we will be allowed to go back racing, the team behind the Rotax Max Euro Trophy have released another revised calendar, pushing the season start back to July.

The move falls into line with the announcement that Motorsport UK made to suspend all motorsport in the UK until July 1st. That’s pretty apt, as the first round of the Rotax Euro trophy will now be the championship’s fist visit to the UK on July 10th-12th.

Genk now moves to become round 2, held over the first weekend in August. Then comes a change from Mariembourg to Wackersdorf, Germany, the 3rd different venue to appear on the calendar. The final round remains at Adria, but now shifts to a new date at the end October.

It’s great to see some organisers trying to give competitors as much notice as possible, especially a European championship, requiring people to travel across the continent. However, there in lies the problem with being able to go racing. Currently, lots of countries have huge travel restrictions in place, with no sign of them being lifted any time soon. Still, we hope that the season will resume, sooner rather than later. Stay safe everyone.

Revised Rotax Max Euro Trophy 2020 Calendar

Round 1: PF International, GBR – 10th – 12th July
Round 2: Karting Genk, BEL – 7th-9th August
Round 3: Wackersdorf, DEU – 4th-6th September
Round 4: Adria, ITA – 23rd – 25th October
