122 drivers descended on Lonato for the KZ2 Supercup, a support race to the KZ World Championship. All the top drivers were present on the grid, including most of the factory teams. Kajus Siksnelis becomes FIA Karting Academy Champion

The final round of the FIA Karting Academy trophy supported the KZ World Championships at Lonato this weekend. It would see 46 drivers from around the globe competing on identical karts. Qualifying was headed up by Lithuania’s Kajus Siksnelis, setting a benchmark time of around the Italian circuit. Singapore’s Christian Ho was 2nd fastest, less than a tenth behind. A short deluge greeted the Junior Drivers for the final of the World Championships in Alaharma, Finland. A full day of dry running would lead to a final in extremely tricky conditions. The final round of the CIK FIA European championship had come down to a 3 way battle between VDK Racing’s Marcus Amand, Ricky Fylnn Motorsport’s Thomas Ten Brinke.
