Harry Linden dominates mini max final at kartmasters.

Just 9 drivers would take to the track in Mini Max, after a 1 year absence from the Kartmasters paddock last year. The drivers would share the track with the Mini X30 drivers for qualifying and the heats on Saturday, before getting the track to themselves for the pre-final and the main event on Sunday.

Fastest in qualifying was Dan Holland Racing’s Harry Linden, pulling out a 1:01.08 to mix it in with the Mini X30. He would have a mamouth gap to 2nd place Pierson Bullock-Carter whose fastest time of 1:01.50 was just over 4 tenths slower than the pole man. Things were a touch closer behind as Mckenzie Douglas and Steven Duncan were within just half a tenth of each other for 3rd and 4th.

Linden would carry his advantage into the first heat, taking the top spot by almost a second over Douglass with a further 1.4 seconds over Alfie Gallagher in 3rd. The race for 4th was pretty close, with Mikey Porter just over 2 tenths clear of Max Taylor at the line.

Linden would take the 2nd heat as well, this time chased hard by Douglass who missed out by 2 tenths at the chequred flag. The gap for 3rd was staggering. Over 6 seconds back to Gallagher who just managed to beat Bullock-Carter and Duncan for 4th.

The Pre-final would again see Linden and Douglass fight over the win, with Linden just coming out the victor after the 13 lap encounter by just 0.46 seconds at the flag. They again had a mamouth advantage over 3rd place, this time, it was Duncan who got the best of Gallagher, beating the KR-Sport driver over the line by 0.25 seconds at the flag. Bullock-Carter and Porter were also extremely close at the flag, showing how close these 9 drivers can be.

The main event, would see a rather dominant performance from Harry Linden. He held the lead at the start and drove away from the field. Behind him, the fight for 2nd was a stormer! A 4 way fight between Douglass, Bullock-Carter, Duncan and Gallagher. The 4 were fighting all race long, not giving each other an inch around the 1382 meter circuit. On the final lap, Douglas had built a small gap as Bullock-Carter and Duncan were fighting hard for 3rd, Duncan dove down the inside of Bullock-Carter, touching the back of him and breaking his front bumper, leaving it hanging as he crossed.

Despite their pace, they couldn’t live with Harry Linden who crossed the line to win the Kartmasters GP in Mini Max by over 4.5 seconds at the flag over Douglass and Bullock-Carter.
