RMC International trophy finds new date and new location

With the season not too far off kicking off, the last dates are starting to fall into place, with one of the major parts of the Rotax calendar now finding it’s spot.

The Rotax International Trophy has quickly become a flag ship events, with drivers from around the world descending on a circuit for a weeks racing. It differs from the Grand Finals, by allowing teams to run their own kit, instead of providing drivers everything they need to race. The Grand Finals have already found a new date in 2021.

The International trophy was due to take place over the last weekend of July kicking off on July 28th and rounding out on August 1st. The International trophy will now fill the void left by the Grand Finals, with a new date of December 8th – 13th. The date change, has also brought a new venue, heading to Portimao, Portugal.

This now means that Portimao will now host all 4 of the major karting events, meaning that some drivers may want to hire a villa for a few months between November and January. I hear the prices are pretty cheap at the moment.

Events now heading to Portimao, Portugal

November 6th – 8th: OK & OKJ World Championship
November 26th – 29th: Iame International Games
December 8th – 13th: Rotax Max Challenge International Trophy
January 23rd – 30th: Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals
