Iame & Rotax Euro Series pushed back until May

Just in case you have been living under a rock for the last month, there is currently great concern for the spread of Covid-19 around the world. The spread has caused governments around the world to take action.

That action has already affected the WSK series in Italy, one of the worst affected parts of Europe. Those actions have now taken affect on the Iame X30 Euro Series. Their season opener in Mariembourg has now been postponed due to the government cancelling all sporting events until April. This is a stark change to 10 days ago, where promoters RGMMC were satisfied that all the venues were safe zones. It just shows how quickly things can change. The Mariembourg event will remain as the first round, but will run on May 21st – 24th, the original date for Round 2 at Castelletto, Italy.

The Rotax Euro Trophy has also been forced to alter it’s calendar. The first round will still be held at Genk, but will move to the 8th – 10th of May. Round 2 will see the Rotax field head to Mariembourg just a week after the Iame contingent on May 29th-30th. The Belgian circuit takes the place of Adria. Round 3 and round 4 are currently unaffected, with PF International and Wackersdorf holding their original dates of July 10th-12th and September 4th-6th respectively.

Currently, the UK government are not placing any sanctions on outdoor events, so currently all events are proceeding as planned at the discretion of the organisers. Currently, only the Daniel Ricciardo Series have postponed events.

Revised Rotax Euro Trophy Calendar

Round 1 – Karting Genk, BEL – May 8th – 10th
Round 2 – Mariembourg, BEL – May 29th – 31st
Round 3 – PF International, GBR – July 10th – 12th
Round 4 – Wackersdorf, DEU – September 4th – 6th
