NKC adds Cadets and Juniors for 2020

The National Kart Cup is back for 2020. There was a brief scare when organisers announced they were collaborating with Super One on their 2020 championship, but earlier this week, they showed off their 2020 plans.

The NKC was created to bring low cost, national racing to the table. Origionally, the series only catered for the TKM Extreme engines, but it added the Rotax Senior Max motor to the paddock for 2019. The championship has become known for it’s single tyre set rule, where drivers must use a single set of control tires for the entire championship. For 2020, the organisers have added the full Rotax package, including Micro Max, as well as the Junior TKM class to the paddock.

The championship will run over 6 rounds covering the length and breadth of the country. The season starts in April at Lydd, before heading north to Hooton Park in June. July sees the series visit Whilton Mill before heading to South Wales for a round at Llandow in August. The penultimate round will be at Fulbeck before the season finale at GYG in North Wales.

The single set of tyres will remain for 2020, with all classes running the Maxxis HG1. The Mitas SRW’s will return as the control wet tyre, with no limit on the amount of those. The Micro Max class will use the Dunlop SL3 slicks with the KT3 wets. Registrations are open now, with a £10 discount if you register before December 31st, your reg fee also includes your race tyres! Entry fees are set at £130 per round, meaning a full year’s racing including tyres for under £1,000. If you fancy getting involved, simply click here to get yourself signed up.
