FA Kart heads to KartRepublic

In a shock announcement on Instagram, Fernando Alonso showed off his FA Kart’s latest chassis for the Mini/Cadet category. The shocking part, is it’s no longer built by OTK.

The FA Kart A1, is the first to be built by Breda Racing Srl, the guys behind the KartRepublic chassis. This is a huge move and one that could prove to be quite a shake up for the karting grid. In case you have been living under a rock for the last couple of years, KartRepublic have been taking the karting world by storm, winning the OK World Championship twice on the bounce, as well as the KZ European championship.

The news technically broke on November 22nd when the provisional CIK-FIA homologation lists were published for the Mini classes. The homologation runs from 2020-2023. The question now: When can we expect a new FA kart for juniors & seniors. We would all want to see one for 2020, but that would likely be a literal re-badge of the current Kart Republics. The next homologation period starts in 2021, so expect to see a brand new kart making an appearance then.
